You can tell this if you look at a decent contemporary photo and one of his paintings. These are real buildings. Painted poorly. Like, not even shitty postcard on the street quality.

What to fuck stupid officers focus on? What they think are low-hanging fruits to improve their "standards" and "discipline". Grooming standards are a big bugaboo for useless CSMs and incompetent officers, because they're very visible and they can "make a change."

Also, you don't need to be a member of a specific religion to get a religious accommodation waiver for beards! You just need to have sincere religious views about it, it is *not* tied to any specific religion. You just need a chaplain to sign a memo for it.
