Honestly this is what pisses me off about this whole thing. The best years of my life wasted on some decrepit, decaying racist dinosaur when we could have been making actual progress to a better society and world. Just incandescent with rage about it.

It's hard to know what is going on in the pea soup inside of his skull, but you used to have to show ID to pay by check or credit card, and often stores had check cashing ID cards (before ATMs were a thing) if you wanted to cash your paycheck with them. First time you would show DL or other ID.

The nationalization of state and local campaigns is a huge part of the problem here too, localizing them just *works better* for Dems, which is why Rs have been doing things like killing earmarks and such.
