This rubygems stuff is devolving into some seriously petty shit that is BUMMING ME THE FUCK OUT. And it’s all unnecessary. You can’t just steal a goddamn project y’all. It’s as simple as that.

Super naive take. Aside from funding (happy to contribute), what's stopping us from playing an uno-reverse-card, forking rubygems.org and standing up alternate rubygems infra.

I think I’m going to cancel my GitHub sponsors account. The only winner is the IRS/HMRC when every dollar is taxed twice. At least if I sold you something — a book, a course or whatever — you could expense it.
I also feel bad that it’s mostly individuals, not companies.

Many people don't know this, but @jonbuda.com built the first version of Simplecast in 2013.
