In my testing room of 15, seven were there for immigration out of the United States to Canada. Met three more while in a different waiting room for another portion of the test. 10 people on a random Saturday are out here working towards getting out.

My autistic adult kid just filed his taxes last week, so he was surprised to learn today that he apparently was never expected to pay taxes because he has autism. Can he amend his HR documentation to reflect that he is exempt from taxes per RFKJ because he’s autistic?

I attended a graduation ceremony for an addiction recovery program. I celebrated all those strong women, many moms, and how hard they worked to reach this point. On the drive after, I thought of all the obstacles society will now put in their way moving forward and wept. Why are we like this?

Everyone keeps telling me that we'll get through this. And I keep responding that not all of us will. As a whole, we might survive, but individually, everyone won't make it. And that's not okay with me.
On the HHS Leadership call today: 1 employee from CMS (Center for Medicare/Medicaid Service) and 2 employees from SSA (Social Security Administration) have died by suicide after their firing.

@mishellbaker.bsky.social I found something I CAN do that feels better than anger/dismay & seemed welcome, so tossing it out for other overwhelmed conflict avoidant deeply caring folks. I'm calling orgs/biz that work with/owned by the targeted groups, to express love & support. That, I can do.
