Just because you can't control every terrible thing doesn't mean you're powerless. Find a way to DO something. Think small, think local.

Here's today's suggestion: train to become a practical support volunteer and support people traveling to access abortion care. apiaryps.org/pollination-...

The disability community really needs help to stop the massive cuts to Medicaid that are being proposed. Especially if you or a loved one rely on Medicaid services-write or call your representatives and tell them your story.

An overly long presentation where I repeatedly quote Dr. Jay Bhattacharya and authors of the Great Barrington Declaration.

Please share to make sure he’s not censored or silenced.

Ableism is telling disabled people to stay home forever. Ableism is telling disabled people we’re not trying hard enough. Ableism is putting all the blame on disabled people rather than blaming the system that makes it so we can’t access the world.

I head someone explain this as “Good weird is being weird about your own business, bad weird is being weird about other people’s business” and I thought that summed it up pretty well.
Stop being the bad kind of weird. This place is for the good kind of weird only. 🦋

Let the church say, Amen.
Imma need some of you to think about thriving out of spite. I had big plans for 2025 and I’m definitely not gonna pre-derail them for likes of Elin and Tromp. I’m getting more involved. Loving harder. Writing hornier. Having more fun. I’m gonna be so kind to my neighbors, bitch.

Not only is disability tax very real - the system is designed to keep us in poverty.

Everything costs more, we have a higher number of emergency expenses, and we’re prohibited from earning extra money (and in some cases we can’t even inherit or fundraise).

It’s a terrifying & precarious situation.

#DisabilityTax

“The reality is that it is expensive to be disabled. Research shows that disabled people need at least 28% more income, at least $17,690, to achieve a standard of living similar to that of non-disabled people.”

Great thread on the current terrain around sanctuary policy in California. The Dems rightward lurch is gonna make it that much harder to make the case but sanctuary laws that limit ICE/police collaborations and detention expansion remain one of our best tools to curb mass deportations.
THREAD: how California can defend the state against Trump's mass deportations, according to immigrant rights advocates.

While the state was a leader in Trump's 1st term, Gov Gavin Newsom has repeatedly vetoed sanctuary measures that would've made the state more prepared. Will that now change? 🧵

Respond in the comment sections of newspapers, news channels, and wherever they are.

They're brave and bold and wrong because they don't think people will correct them with facts over and over again.

If they can annoy you. You can annoy them.

Truth be told, it does seem kind of silly to have the FBI do background checks on presidential appointees when the president is a convicted criminal and an adjudicated digital rapist.
