Sébastien Moitzheim, CTO of @Powall, gave a great talk on continuous production of nanocoated powders at #aldale2025. He showed how to deal with particle mixing & precursor injection. #ALDep at 1bar, not using the high-purity semicon precursors, is a cost-efficient and scalable solution for coating.

I am attending the 2nd International Workshop on Reacting Particle-Gas Systems in Magdeburg. It is hosted by the local university, named after a famous physicist and politician.

Today, Rens Kamphorst defended his PhD thesis “Tuning the surface properties of polymer microspheres - by means of atomic layer deposition in fluidized beds”. 👍👍
He has been doing great work on #ALDep to coat polymer particles with SiO2.

Typically, 2x per year, we have an internal #ALDep workshop with our group. I gave an introductory lecture on ALD for the new members, and group members presented their research plans and results. We had very stimulating discussions! This time also with guests from Powall and the Kavli Nanolab.
