He/him. Seattle. People should be able to walk and roll without dying.
Bruce really just wanted to remind us all that he sucked on the way out I guess

The MLK bike lanes have substantial sections that aren't concrete.

Without this proviso the paint bike lanes in D2 would still be paint protected.

Morales moved us forward 5+ years with a single proviso and deserves a ton of credit for it

The 2M was for the precast concrete barriers, eg. on Alaska, not the cast in place curbs (eg MLK and Beacon Ave)

Extra outreach too. We won safe streets projects, but it often came at the expense of extra parking studies, extra circular discussions, wasted staff time and community time.

I didn't know for sure that Katie Wilson is going to make the levy a success for safe streets, but I do know that the man that personally killed a safe streets intersection redesign near his house in the 11th hour wasn't going to let SDOT use the money they'd just been given sensibly.

The approach that advocacy took was to say: the voters approved a levy that said there would be a complete street on Beacon Ave. Followed by turning out community support.

Without that promise to voters (the most recent levy has essentially no promises) and it's much harder to do advocacy.

Despite real wins in the levy, advocates were not able to put in place real deliverable goals or project lists for the levy. The tactics advocates used to win substantial projects (playing defense) in the last few years were going to become very ineffective.

The city of Seattle moved forward on safe streets infrastructure despite Bruce Harrell's strong opposition to it. Advocates and their champions in the city council were able to advance and keep (some) projects safe.

"The mayor doesn't get a vote in this," Graff says. "This not Disneyland, this is a working market."

Graff wants to see a traffic study because he can't get to his office.

Put the ramps on a dedicated signal like the Dearborn ramps and it would probably be fine

Affordability is NOT something that just concerns people at the “bottom of the economic ladder.” You have to be pretty out of touch and well off to not have any concerns around affordability.
