Joking aside, I feel like there ARE good OEM mech who know the "game" and I'm super happy to find them. When my big BMW bike fried its stator, the tech told me that BMW only sells the stator with the crankshaft, then told me there's a 3rd party part online. "Buy and and bring it in and wink wink"
