it’s also the day 16 years ago I discovered that a customer for the data center I worked at had racked 3 full cabinets with over $200k of brand new server hardware on top of $80 of canned soda from our customer lounge vending machine to avoid spending $600 on mounting rails

Over the past year or so, there's been somebody flying a drone around my neighborhood. Probably some kid who got one for their birthday and doesn't really have a clue about FAA Part 107... but it caused some concern amongst my neighbors.

The frustrating thing about this thread is bsky basically has to take a position on the issue, and implement *something* that absolves them of responsibility, but knowing full well they have near zero power to control what happens to publicly accessible content posted here.
For example, this might look like a setting that allows Bluesky users to specify whether they consent to outside developers using their content in AI training datasets

I sincerely hope all the Twitter transplants (myself included) consider leaving the always-on PvP conversational posture behind. Jumping to dunk on the slightest hint of disagreement makes for super boring discourse.
