The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

if Democrats cave for absolutely nothing I don't want to hear another conversation about how we make it the current party organization work ever again.

they will be fucking dead to me.

I don't care if we have to build a new coalition from absolute zero

Ask him why so many air traffic controllers are retiring at once. Ask him if it has anything to do with Reagan firing 11K union strikers in 1981 and having to replace them all at once. Ask him how the mass firings this year will impact us the same way 40 years from now. Ask him, Jake.

I was rewatching this video of right-wing pastor John MacArthur defending slavery, and it occurred to me that he inadvertently revealed the psychological flaw that drives people to fascism, i.e. their anger at having to be a grown-up.

Let me explain.

Men’s pants: Your waist is 30 inches, therefore you are a size 30.

Women’s pants: Your waist is bad inches, you have wide hips, a small butt, short legs, a long torso, a prehensile tail, and we don’t like your face. Therefore you are a size whatever the fuck we want, but only at this store.

The politicians who commit these crimes are overwhelmingly Republican.

67% of politicians convicted between February 10, 2023 and May 23, 2024 nationwide were Republicans.
