Bands were releasing vinyl variants and live show VHS tapes in the 80s, not sure why this is now a controversial thing. I've got loads of 80s coloured/translucent vinyl variants. Sure Taylor is doing it a lot more, but that's just a sign of the times. Everything in our culture is more and more.

Absolutely, this is completely spot on. And when you run with the idea that “this song is about x person” it closes you off from viewing it from different angles, it’s a dead end. Personally I think her songwriting is more complex than that and I can imagine it frustrates Taylor a bit.

The only right answer is the original two games!

I think it might be his best.

😂 It certainly does feel as though as the Xeno is intended to be the hero. It's the only character I'm really rooting for!

I'm willing to stick with this but my overwhelming feeling is that Alien just doesn't work as a series. The pacing is way off and it undercuts the tension and horror. I'm not sure how you overcome that but I'll give it the chance. It feels more like a Blade Runner series so far to be honest.

Unfortunately it's really not clicking for me. It's technically a well made show but I'm really struggling to be emotionally invested. I love the franchise and I want to love this, and i'll keep going with it, but so far it's miles off Romulus and 3 as "best of the rest".

Rock n roll.

This has quickly become the best show you guys do. I can't bring myself to listen to Libero but the quote from Tariq was amazing. And how they have the nerve to throw in a dig at Stefan is unbelievable - he's one of the very few people flying the flag for balanced discussion around football finances

I like it! A strong XI, and the bench looks tasty too. Foden and Rodri to come back in as well so that’s very nice.

Tbf about 50% of those plays will be me thinking my pc speakers were broken 🤣

Ha, the internet never disappoints! Glad I'm not the only one though, I was starting to feel like I was going mad.

Yes!! "Picture me in the trees" is a huge one, and for the cherry on top there's even "peak" in the next line! There's a couple more than I clocked last summer when I was reading Lynch on Lynch but they've escaped me now. I'll stick some vinyls on after work and see if they come back to me 😂
August 14, 2025 at 1:42 PM
I'm an enormous Lynch fan so I may well be particularly tuned to listen for those types of things mind you!
August 14, 2025 at 1:29 PM
LOL. Fantastic.

A lot of the imagery over the last couple records really does evoke some of the key Lynch language/themes to me. "...when you blew in with the winds of fate" is telling. Clara Bow screams Sunset Blv/Mulholland Dr. Loads of references to "dreams"/"dreaming" as well.

Indeed. And Folklore being the TS Nebraska isn't where the Springsteen similarities end. I was lucky enough to see them both almost back to back last year and while Taylor is certainly doing many new things and absolutely her own person, there are so many parallels between the two (and the fandoms!)
August 14, 2025 at 1:03 PM
I've long had a theory that Taylor is actually a massive David Lynch fan and I'm getting serious Mulholland Drive vibes from this one 😂
August 14, 2025 at 12:49 PM
I'd swap Rep and Lover, but hard to argue with the rest. I've been a fan since Fearless but it's hard not to argue that Taylor has levelled up significantly since Folklore. She's gone from one of the best of her generation to one of the greatest of all time IMO.

You’d be surprised how many male sports fans love Taylor ✌️

I’m a huuuuge FF fan from the comics and the movie massively delivered for me. Just a relief to finally have a faithful adaption telling a fairly straight ahead story. They kept it pretty simple and it just worked. The score and the cast were ace.

We urgently need to stop asking politicians these stupid questions.

Until we meaningfully start trying to combat inequality, nothing will change. Every problem we're facing comes back down to that issue. The only hope is that when this current Labour strategy inevitably hits rock bottom and becomes untenable for them, they realise they need to change course.

ITVs streaming quality has been utterly atrocious for over a decade now. Remarkable they’ve not addressed it whatsoever.
