Okay so now what? The one day no-buy is over.

The system loves symbolic victories. You celebrate & they keep collecting profits.

If you want to scare them, become anti-consumerist. Buy nothing but what you need. Stack cash & invest that in systemic shifts.

There are two people in Congress-the chairs of the Senate & House Appropriations Committees-who have enormous power over the illegal impoundment of funds appropriated by Congress, which is sowing chaos across the US. They need to be relentlessly contacted at their offices, in person and by phone. 1/

more and more these days, I find myself thinking that you can accept the discipline of your political goals or you can accept the discipline of your resentments.
Seeing a lot of “But they don’t deserve…” And no, of course they don’t. What the fuck does that have to do with anything? The house is on fire. Pass a bucket to whoever wants to put it out. You can remind them what an ass they’ve been later.

Fun fact: USGS does not, in fact, just study geology. Mission areas include core science (geospatial, mapping), ecosystems (biology, ecology), energy and minerals, natural hazards (earth quakes, volcanology), and water resources. We strictly do science and are completely non-regulatory.

The quality of the reporting on this has been disappointing, to say the least, with only the most basic understanding of what the National Archives does.

This is bigger than a little spat with a small agency.
