Apparently everyone in Denver went to see the Savannah Bananas last night, but we found ourselves at a Mariachis(Isotopes) game, and I sure do miss having a hometown minor league team!

Four years and one day ago, I had a living father. Four years ago tonight, I did not. I know it’s a normal circle of life thing to lose a parent, but I effing miss my dad.

I’m not sure why Johnny Furphy is showing up so much in my algorithm, but my kid got to meet him at basketball camp in Kansas last summer, so that’s cool!

My son is being interviewed by an Australian content creator at the NBA summer League. My daughter and I have been enjoying time in the extremely weird city of Vegas watching him play basketball. What a time to be alive.

Father’s Day can be complicated, but I’m so thankful I had a dad who was largely uncomplicated, and who deeply loved his kids and grandkids. Four years without him, and I don’t miss him any less.

Have you been to an Isotopes game?? We went last year on Lowrider Night (it was a Mariachi night and not an Isotopes night, which is a whole fun minor league thing in itself), and it was the best baseball game I’ve been to in my life!

CW: sports mom content. You really can’t tell a 14yo anything when he starts the weekend with some 3s. Not really sure how he got this way with orchestra and drum line nerd parents.

Another Saturday, another tournament with my kid (center 22). I stg, the youth basketball season is longer than the NBA season for some kids. We get a little window at the end of July to squeeze in a quick family camping trip to western CO between club and HS summer workouts and the new school year.

shoulder time in our former home of Columbus) with my daughter, my sestra, and bonus daughter celebrating bonus hija turning 18. My heart is so full, and I’m left wondering how many more years Colorado will feel like home.
