Ok, I think I’m going to apply for a state job that would suit my passions and also be about a $20k salary increase. I simultaneously think I’d be amazing at it but also am not sure I have a chance. It would mean fighting from within the system. Send good karma and prayers!

Started my 9 day Thanksgiving break by getting up early on a Saturday to be in a high school gym by 8:30am to watch my kid in scrimmages. Living the dream! Or at least living my kid’s dream!

I always liked Collin when he was a Nugget, and I’m so happy for him to be on a team where he can shine!
Good night everyone, especially Collin Gillespie 🤩

Just when I thought today couldn’t get any more bizarre in DC…

@crow.house.gov I am so proud to have voted for you, and to have you representing us with integrity.

A couple of weeks ago, my mom said that she doesn’t think my 17yo recently diagnosed ADHD kid has ADHD and just needs to get off her phone, do more chores, and go outside. We seem to have finally found a med winner with Adderall, and guess what:

Niche post, but as my daughter is navigating college choices, I am highly impressed by the communication and efficiency of the University of Northern Colorado and Colorado Mesa University. Also, any and all prayers and good vibes regarding scholarships and financial aid are currently being accepted!

I love and miss him so much!
Sharing the court looks a lil' different this season

Life is so full of transition lately. My girl has had the college acceptances rolling in, and it’s exciting, and I also wish that she didn’t have to make her choice based primarily on cost. It’s also hitting me that she will be flown in a year.

Back in our happy place at Ball Arena tonight. The discounts on MPJ jerseys are deeeeep!

Yesterday, my son turned 15. His 17yo sister got him Lakers/Nuggets tickets for his bday, and I love that I have kids who see and know each other to the point that she got him his best gift ever, as a kid who always roots for the Nuggets, but keeps LeBron as his GOAT.

As someone who love both justice-involved youth and the Nuggets, this is my favorite story of the week.

Bryan Stevenson is one of my biggest heroes. This article is important.
Cause the algorithms are increasingly shady and I don’t see much promotion, let me Gift Link this:

Today kicked off free Common App days in CO. My girl applied to 11 colleges! But while she will likely stay within driving distance, the look on her brother’s face when she confirmed that she did, indeed, also apply to the U of AK Fairbanks was priceless. I think he’s going to miss her next year.

My 17yo is at the iconic Red Rocks on a rainy weeknight for a concert with her besties, and despite the fact that (while
I love RR and live shows!) a rainy and cold weeknight outdoor concert is my personal purgatory, I am so happy for her to have this rite of passage.

Look, all I know is that I took Tylenol when I was pregnant, my kids were vaccinated, and neither of them have autism. My maternal grandparents were both born Amish, and I’m fairly certain my mom, aunt, brother, and nephew are all on the autism spectrum to some degree. And they’re all magical!

I splurged $10 to resubscribe to Britbox for a month or two so that I can rewatch my comfort show (Shetland, second only to The West Wing) because few things make me feel more comforted than the life of a brooding Scottish detective living on a remote island. Any other current Britbox must sees?

Friends, yesterday one of my coworkers ran into our favorite Nugget at a local nail salon, and we are still texting about it 24 hours later.

Meeting a friend in Morrison for lunch, right by Red Rocks. The only time I’ve ever seen more people who are clearly in town to see Brandi Carlisle was at an actual Brandi Carlisle show.

My teenagers got me to to watch The Summer I Turned Pretty and I got sucked in because it’s the rare show they can both agree on, and I’m convinced this soundtrack is targeted to baby Gen X/elder millennial parents watching with our kids.

My smart, creative, kind teen has an appointment with a psychiatrist next week to discuss possible ADHD meds. The school made no recommendations last year because her grades are “fine,” but she is constantly overwhelmed and struggles terribly with executive functioning.

Another reason to love New Mexico!
New Mexico has issued a public health order that removes federal restrictions to COVID-19 vaccine access so that pharmacies in New Mexico can vaccinate people of all ages and risk profiles. Every state need to do this!

Down for the count today because my back is doing middle-aged things, so I’m icing and stretching on the couch while binging Slow Horses, and have cancelled my long weekend plans, but these dogs haven’t left my side!

Informed my son that I’m starting a new book club with some of the moms and teachers from his school, and he just kept saying, “That’s….interesting.”

Last night at our 1st HS football game of the season, I got big hugs from about 5 teens who are not my own, including a couple of really sweaty and happy football players who had just had a great win, and I think that’s exactly what my heart needed after this weird week in the world.
