Oops - got that last post wrong: Existing chargepoints <50 kw don't need to ever offer contactless - my bad!
Post 24/11/24, new ones 8 kw plus and existing ones 50 kw plus must provide it.
It may never get contactless! Your local CPO offering it on their 7kw unit has done a good public service!

Don't have smart meters yet here in NI so I went for a dumb 32 Amp charger via a Commando socket as seen on the Upside Down Fork YT channel. All in cost was £350 including circuit board and sparky labour. All IP 66/67 and I do have the ability to delay the start time just like a washing machine.

I did. Both units IP 66/67 rated. We have a 100 amp fuse fitted with a separate isolated mini consumer unit in the garage so I have no concerns.
