Will there ever be a time when I don’t secretly yearn for a locked Livejournal? Just set up a Substack, refused to share my contacts & somehow it still suggested I link up with an old manager and someone I went on one date with 10+ years ago. I don’t want to be discoverable! I want to be secret!

Absolutely WEEPING at the end of Celebrity Traitors 😭

Only my recollection of how shit retail jobs are stopped me from resigning without a job to go to yesterday and tbh, it’s still on the table.

Went to the Scottish Deer Centre yesterday and still recovering from learning that the bear that lives there is essentially enrolled in an intensive trauma therapy programme 😭

Other than reality-esque tv I’ve taken the stance that it’s too hard to sift for quality when tv is new and there’s so much of it, so I’m watching stuff from the early/mid-2010s that people deem to still be good (The Americans, Justified, The Fall) and it’s working out well!

Absolutely obsessed with Celebrity Traitors after just one episode. what a great little tv run it’s been recently with Sewing Bee and Bake-Off and Celebrity Traitors!

I love hedgehogs so much I could cry, strong motivation for ‘should I move and have a garden’ is just so I could maybe have hedgehog sightings occasionally.
Doomscrolling break. Especially for everyone facing deadlines and challenges, I offer you this small, persevering hedgehog by way of encouragement and inspiration. #TinyJoys

Forever trying to decide if I want to move out of the city and live by the sea, or stay adjacent to the city but move somewhere quieter & with a garden, or just stay where I am near lots of cool stuff. How does anybody KNOW what kind of life they would like the most??

I don’t know whether my downstairs neighbour or my next door neighbour is the one who has a hacking cough right now, and obviously poor them for being ill, but wow I could do without hearing it all night (I am very tired of living in a badly soundproofed tenement).

Because of how my schedule is playing out, I am going to the gym Tuesday evening, Wednesday lunchtime, Thursday evening this week and next week and wow can I tell you how much I don’t want to do deadlifts by Thursday evening ie in 90 mins from now 😭😭😭

Finished Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano yesterday, 😇 both enjoyed it and was absolutely emotionally devastated by it (and kind of still am today, honestly), what a book 😭

Just spent an hour doing assisted stretching ie I bent myself into various stretches and then a man leaned on me in various ways to make each stretch deeper and now I’m made of very long spaghetti.

Have fully lost all my enthusiasm for the gym over the last couple of months and can only partly link it to work being immensely stressful. Just gone from ‘all I want is to be as strong as I can be’ to ‘I guess I’m going cos I guess it’s good for me’ and no idea what changed 🤔

Library hold reviews:
The Safekeep was…fine. Nesting was sort of great but so harrowing I don’t know if I can truly recommend it. A Little Trickerie was very different to anything else I’ve read recently - I liked it but also I did have to go back and look up what the 3rd book had been so 🤷🏼‍♀️

Been refused compensation for the delayed flight so I’m doubling down on my polite emails (but hold out little to no hope because I’m not covered by either UK or EU law). Absolutely mad that a private company can waste an entire day of my one and only life and have to do nothing about it.
I’ve sent so many complaint emails to customer service people today (delayed flight; tour feedback; broken bag), I didn’t know turning 40 would do this to me so quickly.

Three of my library holds have turned up in one go and are only on loan for 14 days, plus my next book club book needs reading by the 23rd, so I’m basically mandated to spend all my spare time reading for the next two weeks.

I have a craft night in my calendar today but work has worn me down so much that I just want to lie on the sofa, please how do I find some oomph. (I did go to the gym on Tues/Weds & to board games last night so I’m not a hermit, but I lack oomph today even tho it is literally 5 mins walk away.)

Woke up worrying about work in the night, picked up my phone to check the time, dropped it, accidentally called my boyfriend as I caught it 🙃🙃🙃 feeling very young and good at technology why do you ask

I’m a year behind the zeitgeist in this as in so many things, but I just mainlined the first season of Rivals and I enjoyed it so much I might go and reread every eighties bonkbuster novel I possess (my mum liked them so I have Quite A Few).

Went to London for a long weekend & had a lovely time, but our hotel only gave us one pillow each (???) and I am SO delighted to be reunited with my customary throne of pillows now I’m home again 😴

Two of these have come good! (New replacement bag being sent out, money off voucher for next holiday.)

Going to a ceilidh tonight; taking bets on how many drinks I will need to have before I dance (I reckon three which is also usually my upper limit of drinks…so we will see).
