The Harpers as an organization was actually anything but organized. Rather, it was a confederation of individuals from contrasting cultures and backgrounds who bonded over the shared goals of maintaining peace, preserving knowledge, and protecting the downtrodden. Some Harper agents worked in small groups—often alongside friends and close allies—while others operated as lone operatives,[25][32] who kept only informal ties with the group at large.[11] Throughout the many years it endured, the Harpers had disbanded and fallen apart several times, only to reform later in some new iteration.[29][30] The Harpers' informality and lack of formal structure lent to its continuance as true secret society.[9] Some members took on specific roles, such as 'spymasters', 'handlers', and 'agents',[30] but maintained no hierarchy or ranking over their fellows. Technically, it's not illegal, but it's hard to imagine that many evangelical Christians can look to Donald Trump without shaking their heads and wanting the whole sordid picture to just fade away. Whether or not Trump ever knew Stormy Daniels, he did arrange to pay her off. There is very little there that could surprise most of us when it comes to Donald Trump and scandal. The moral weight of it all is massive. And yet, President Biden is a half-lucid geriatric who is now little more than a tool of the radical left. To vote for Biden is to authorize continued incompetence and moral liberalism, now set to push a set of progressivist ideological goals over the finish line. Say what you will about Donald Trump and his sex scandals, he doesn't confuse male and female.

The right to revolution follows from the civil ruler's media-torial role and the fact that his power was ordained by God for the good of civil communities. It is not ordained for evil.... First, Wolfe misinterprets Romans 13. Paul did not say that God established only governments that function for the good of communities. Second, the social contract theory of government can be interpreted to justify corrupt rebellion against the government—a government God says we must submit to. Which of the Christian political virtues does Wolfe's final paragraph violate? Wolfe's final paragraph is bold, but it violates the virtues of humility, re-spect, and prudence. Its lack of humility shows up when Wolfe presumes to judge the motives and thoughts of the whole Christian community when it doesn't rebel against the government. Its lack of respect is evident when Wolfe advocates revolting against secular government, while Paul said that all governments are ordained of God and that to resist them is to resist God. Its lack of prudence is clear when Wolfe doesn't define goals other than cultivating the will to act in revolt against bad government. This sort of combative and vague talk can encourage unstable people to act without thinking.

I mean, to be fair, “Nice place you got here, it sure would be a shame if something happened to it” is historically a very New York way of doing politics, especially in Little Italy.
Andrew Cuomo & @andrewcuomo 9 ... If you want President Trump to try to take over the city - national guard on streets, choking federal funding - vote for @ZohranKMamdani because Trump just said he will be coming and this poser @ZohranKMamdani won't be able to stop him. That is a fact. The next Mayor has to be able to get us more, not ensure our demise. I am the only person in this race who can do that.

Dinkins entered office in January 1990 pledging racial healing, and famously referred to New York City's demographic diversity as "not a melting pot, but a gorgeous mosaic".[22] The crime rate in New York City had risen alarmingly during the 1980s, and the rate of homicide in particular reached an all-time high of 2,245 cases during 1990, the first year of the Dinkins administration.[23] The rates of most crimes, including all categories of violent crime, then declined during the remainder of his four-year term. That ended a 30-year upward spiral and initiated a trend of falling rates that continued and accelerated beyond his term.[24][25] However, the high absolute levels, the peak early in his administration, and the only modest decline subsequently (homicide down 12% from 1990 to 1993)[26] resulted in Dinkins's suffering politically from the perception that crime remained out of control on his watch.[27][28] Dinkins in fact initiated a hiring program that expanded the police department nearly 25%. The New York Times reported, "He obtained the State Legislature's permission to dedicate a tax to hire thousands of police officers, and he fought to preserve a portion of that anticrime money to keep schools open into the evening, an award-winning initiative that kept tens of thousands of teenagers off the street."[28][29] Dinkins's term was marked by a greater push toward accountability and oversight regarding police misconduct, which led to friction between Dinkins and the city's Patrolmen's Benevolent Association (PBA). All my elections tomorrow are hyperlocal elections unlikely to sway anything monumental, but I will be THERE the moment the polls open. I'm waking up early and everything.
Turning out in droves for No Kings protests and then not turning out to vote on Tuesday would send a very dangerous sign to Republicans. It would tell them they have nothing to fear.
