Great composition and lighting!
Looks like an American black duck. American black ducks look like female mallards with a yellow beak. Female mallards don't have yellow beaks.

That's a good attitude to have. I try to keep getting out even when I'm in a slump. At the very least I'm out in nature and that always seems to make things a little better.
