Joshua Skelton | LOOKING FOR WORK
@joshuaskelly.bsky.social
Half engineer, half artist, all Dad. Tech artist. Delver art guy. Formerly Rec Room, Microsoft. he/him
Ive been working on the Delver mobile ports for about a month now? And mostly full time?

Turns out I’m crushing it? Problems I’ve been worried about for years are getting fixed! Heck I even got stencil buffers working for our fancy low res glow/shadows.

So smooth! All the little vertices finally behaving. 🤪

Productive day! I’ve fixed iOS shader issues and Delver feels great on an iPhone!

📢 I'm looking for work! Seeking a Tech Artist role. 📢

I'm a creative thinker who loves empowering artists, building tools, and streamlining workflows/pipelines. I've been building software for 15+ years, so I know what I'm doing.

PSX wobbly verts eat your heart out! Also ignore the ominous pool of pure black liquid…

iOS looks like it needs a little shader love. 🤪

Any libGDX folks know where I should start looking?

I’m pretty happy with layout! Just need to put some time into Delver with it.

Progress is being made…

Lately I've been knocking the dust off of Delver Engine and working towards getting mobile builds going. So far it hasn't been _too_ bad, just normal levels of reviving a legacy code base. 😅

The first home computer I remember was my Dad’s Kaypro II. I was way too young to use it myself, but I fondly remember the green glow of the screen.

Maybe not the first game that comes to mind, but I appreciate the deep cut Wikipedia.

It turned out to be a one line fix (as these things often do). But my biggest struggle is that none of my Google searches surfaced this fix.

I somehow stumbled across ericwa's PR into SDL about this issue and just figured I'd ask them directly.

The blurry pixel issue has been fixed!* Thanks to the infamous ericwa for pointing me in the right direction.

*Only on Windows. 😭

Weird. Pasting images int Bluesky shows the preview correctly, but they show up black in the actual post?

Looks like make thinks gcc is returning a non zero value, but it seems to be fine running the command in isolation?
August 16, 2025 at 7:36 PM
My primary backend is SDL2. So naturally I've tried all the usual suggestions. To fix it. Heck, I have a community PR from last year trying to fix it.

Nothing I've tried has fixed the issue. Maybe it's time to migrate to SDL3?

Was tinkering around on my retro pixel perfect game engine yesterday and I thought something was off. Enhance...

AAAHHHH. This is new as of my moving to Windows 11 + 4K monitor.

Post a screenshot of your first 5 Steam purchases and let Bluesky judge you.

All this does is confirm to me I’ve been this way for a while. 🤪

My kiddos (7 & 9) have gotten into Magic the Gathering, so I made them custom deck boxes.

Bought a copy for myself a few years back. It’s a thick tome.
