Lubbock effectively got rid of single-family zoning last year.

Some Texas cities have relaxed their rules to allow more homes to be built.

Austin has nixed parking requirements, reduced minimum lot sizes and allowed up to three units on most single-family lots.

Denser, cheaper housing like townhomes, duplexes & apartments aren't as welcome — if they're even allowed
