My struggle as a comic book writer is a simple one. I don't believe in broad strokes. Things are good because of the details. There are only a handful of plots/story beats. Variation comes from nuance. But @ 22 pages, details are the 1st to go.

4 images from comics I've written. Credits in thread.

If you've never seen any of Stewart Lee's stand-up, it's worth seeking out. Even though many of the references were lost on me since I'm not from the UK, it's still fascinating to watch him command a space or totally pivot halfway through a bit.

For taxpayers, every piece of cycling infrastructure is a gift that keeps on giving.

An asset that returns annual savings in congestion, pollution, maintenance, safety and healthcare over its lifetime.

Stop asking whether your city can afford to invest in cycling. Ask whether it can afford not to.

Republicans now know Schumer will cave and how.

They know they got 8 now. This is why it was important not to sell out.

Let's start a new movie post. Every movie I've seen that was released in the States (legally) in late 2024 or 2025... I'll post them in the order I saw them, a few a day. Eventually I'll catch up to where I am (as if starting this, I've only seen 18 new movies so far this year...)

Let's go...

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Anyway, here's 19 min of Ukrainian electronic composer Oleh Shpudeiko, aka Heinali, performing with Ukrainian singer Andriana-Yaroslava Saienko to create pure, raw synth shaking emotion from the scattered sonic bones Western medieval music... I've been listening to their new album, Гільдеґарда.

These people are dangerously close to their "let them eat cake moment." It's crazy. A healthcare CEO has been gunned down in the street and a Socialist Democrat elected mayor of the economic center of the Western world, and they still have no idea which way the wind is blowing.
Canadian multimillionaire and Shark Tank guy Kevin O'Leary went on TV to say he's upset Zohran won't talk to him: "I and others who invest in real estate have tried to get a meeting to figure out what's rhetoric and what's policy. So far for me it's been crickets."

It certainly wasn't an aesthetic choice. This rivals some Renaissance paintings.
If you were looking at a newspaper (or its website) this morning and didn't see this iconic photo, it was an intentional choice to pander.

Oh man, as a pulp writer from Texas who is feeling a little down about his life and achievements these days... this letter is really hitting close to home.
Unhappy brain day, so to try and stave off the gloom, a game.

1 like = 1 line from the 15 Jun 1933 letter of Robert E. Howard to H. P. Lovecraft, talking about writing, schooling, and life

Reposting this as it's a piece of @guydavisart.bsky.social art that most folks have likely never seen. From my weird western OGN Strangeways: Murder Moon, all the way back in 2008 (probably drawn in 2005 though.)

At the risk of hubris, tagging @realgdt.bsky.social as he's a fan of Guy's work.

I feel this so hard right now, except thousands of people don't read my comics every day, so at least I wasted fewer lives than this little cartoon guy.
