Remembrance Day weather in Edmonton: Today's 11am temperature of 7 degrees was the warmest since 2016. 2024 & 2023 were both a couple degrees above zero @ 11am. But...those years & 2016 are the only other times in the past decade that it's been above zero at 11am on Nov 11. the 10yr avg is -3.

Severe thunderstorm WATCH issued for Edmonton and area & all the areas in red on the map. Nothing imminent for #yegwx area (as of 12:15). But... Stay alert for further updates through the day as storms begin to develop. Main threats - Damaging gusts & large hail.

Several waves of snow will push through NW Alberta in the coming days with 20-30cm likely for areas within the Snowfall Warning zone, isolated pockets near 50cm are possible. MOST of that snow will fall through the day Friday, but snow will continue off & on through Saturday and Sunday. #abstorm

Snowzone has really developed better than expected. Big fat snowflakes in St Albert at 915am. Already a bit of minor accumulation and with at least another hour of this....we could see this turn into 1-3cm by noon. #yegwx
