I think the word "echo chamber" has become grossly over extended and only really has value in broad topics of concern to a large portion of people.

This overall small decline masks some big changes "under the hood" so to speak about where Dem and GOP votes come from. Dems have seen a drop on the west side of town - still overwhelmingly Dem- while the south side has continued to swing left. What was once a reliable GOP stronghold is gone.

Is that book any good? On my to read list for a while.

I think Master and Commander is a fine place to start if you go in knowing its pretty distinctly different from where the rest of the series goes. I agree Ionian Mission is a big low point. So much so I stopped there for about a year. In the middle of Treasons Harbour now, much better.

South Bend's aint bad

Biggest issue to me is just how many good projects are just being stopped dead in their tracks at the current rates. People who continued planning with the hopes we'd be back down to 5%ish by now.
