Remember when "I'm from the Government, and I'm here to help" was a right-wing talking point?

You haven't heard? That's the nuclear apocalypse. Y'all are scheduled for it a few hours ahead of us here on the US East coast.

The first Michigan player to go to jail for violating this will be a national hero and probably a front runner for next President of the United States

I would feel absolutely humiliated were I an Ohio State man today. This is worse than Kim Jong Un making it illegal for anyone else to copy his haircut

Isn't it the case that we mostly see polygamy in setting with high male-specific mortality? I'm specifically thinking about the Abassid M.E.

The constitution was written when anyone could come here and it shows. It took them a century to even clarify who was a citizen!

I am aware that many taxes are equivalent to others. But a sales tax is not equivalent to an import tax, if only because import taxes are not levied on non-imported goods!

Are income taxes a sales tax, because labor is an input into the stuff that gets sold to people? For the term "sales tax" to have any meaning besides "tax", it should be the case that it applies at the point of sale irrespective of the provenance of the item sold, or else every tax is a sales tax

It's not a sales tax. It's an import tax. I am opposed to the policy but I am even more opposed to lying.

Seriously, though, what is the endgame of this? Do university presidents and deans need to pretend like this didn't happening and isn't still happening? How do you hire and promote in such an environment? Has academia always been this cynical?

It's an opportunity to exercise your taste and preferences on the discipline. Uplift the voices you think are useful above the din. So, short answer, no private value in the short run.

My guess is that students who are poorly behaved already have poor grades.
