The Telegraph today carries a news story about someone paying £7.4 million for a handbag (Hello, Lady Bracknell!). And an opinion piece describing a wealth tax as a ‘moral abomination’. What a time to be alive.

Jesus Christ this graph. Total and utter political failure.
In a more serious country, unilaterally withdrawing from the JCPOA would have immediately ended Trump's first presidency & destroyed the GOP's reputation on national security policy for a generation 🧐

We are sending people for indefinite detention without trial at a foreign gulag because they have tattoos about soccer teams and about loving their mothers.
I want you to understand this is happening in our name and we know most of these men committed no crimes. One is a professional soccer player who was tortured in Venezuela and was working through asylum in the U.S. ICE shipped him for his Real Madrid tattoo and a picture throwing rock & roll horns.

I decided to start a #thread 🧵 of stories about legal residents and tourists being (illegally) arrested, detained and/or deported by the Trump regime. I'll only post stories from serious sources, as rumors and conspiracies are really not needed in this authoritarian moment.

I wanted to see how the exact same post would perform on both X (Twitter) and Bluesky.

The results were...interesting...

Pause military aid and intelligence to Ukraine = Putin ratchets up attack and Ukraine gets bombarded by missiles.

Raise tariffs = economic downturn and prices up.

These are obvious consequences to foolish actions… not lessons to be learnt on the job.

What a terrible, sickening insult to the 1,000’s of European troops killed and injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. They were there to stand should to shoulder with America against dictatorships.

If we weren’t there, those would have been additional American casualties.

JD Vance needs to apologise.
