Isn’t that every single investment out there. Golds value is equal to what the next person is willing to pay for it. Why would anyone invest in any stock if they didn’t believe it’s worth would go up in the future so they can sell.

What is the $? A piece of cotton that isn’t backed by anything. When the gov needs more money they just print it and dilute the value of the money you and I already have. Bitcoin prevents this.
