Except for Arizona, they don’t have Daylight Savings Time. Except for the Navajo Nation, partially in Arizona, because they do have Daylight Savings Time. Except for the Hopi Reservation, an enclave in the Navajo Nation. They don’t observe Daylight Savings Time.

Developing a game compatible with Linux doesn't necessarily drive any significant increase in sales, but instead leads to far more bug reports.

So, was it worth it? Read @software.kodera.pl's experience.

Every product has obvious flaws that make you wonder "How could they not fix this‽"

But there's always a reason. Sometimes a good reason and sometimes a bad reason.

I've learned to reserve judgement because there's often an interesting technical or organizational story behind them.
Just tuned in and heard @pfrazee.com mention that now when you change your .bsky.social to a custom domain handle it will reserve your old .bsky.social handle for you!

This is one of those features that slipped through the cracks for way too long. Glad the team finally got to it!

This thing here is pure gold
There have been some good posts on what "wide events" instrumentation is but not as many on how to go about it, what attributes you should add, or how to work with OpenTelemetry

I put everything I've learned in the last few years into one guide jeremymorrell.dev/blog/a-pract...
A Practitioner's Guide to Wide Events | Jeremy Morrell
The existing articles on Wide Events define the concept well but leave the implementation details to the reader.

I’ve worked with Flask the past few years and I’m maybe a bit disconnected but the thing is I don’t hear as much noise from Django community as for example rails. Django is so awesome I fail to see why people don’t engage as much

Just finished reading buttondown.com/carlton/arch... and I couldn't agree more with @carltongibson.bsky.social. His analysis and reasoning are spot on. I'd love to hear ideas on how we can improve the 'social' aspect of raising awareness for Django 3rd party apps.
Thoughts on Django’s Core
To tie-in with the upcoming elections for Django's Steering Council, I wanted to think again about Django's Core, let's call it Batteries Included Revisited....
