The speed at which Chinese disruption happens is mind numbing. One week the USA’s AI industry is on top of the world, the next week they’re having an existencial crisis. Who’s next?

I took a chance on this novel despite it having won the Booker Prize. It is NOT a holiday reading. It takes place in Ireland, but made me think of Gaza or the US Southern border. Gut wrenching.

(I consider the Booker to be to books what the Palm d’Or is to movies).

I loved this novel! It is so lively, unexpected, entertaining, fun, and sad. I loved the author’s “The Undocumented Americans” and was very much looking forward to this book. It exceeded my expectations. Wonderful!

I read this book without knowing what it was about because I’ll read anything this author writes. It’s a novel for the present time, chronicling the careless neglect with which we treat our surroundings. I wish I had read it with someone I could discuss it with.

This book got my attention because it was included by President Obama in his Summer reading list.

Bringing my book club here. This academic book describing the lasting effects of Trump’s foreign policy, as well as the method to the madness, is very much worth a read.

One day, hopefully not to far away, US coverage of China and other countries will suddenly come to the realization that it’s not all about it, that countries, incredible as it may sound, sometimes act without taking the US into consideration.

Met the young minister of the environment of the Maldives. It makes perfect sense that they’d have someone young heading such a crucial ministry. Super smart too.
