It was my first visit to Kew Gardens yesterday, and it was spectacular. There is so much to see - I don't think I managed half of it despite being there for 4.5 hours.
I managed to view all the glasshouses, climbed the 253 steps to the top of the Great Pagoda, and visited the beautiful Kew Palace.

Absolutely magical experience watching A Midsummer Night's Dream at The Bridge Theatre.

This is probably one of the best productions I've seen. Fun. Imaginative. Immersive. Absolutely delightful.

On this day in 1613, it was also hot in London. During a performance of Henry VIII at the Globe Theatre, a canon misfired setting alight the wooden beams and thatched roof.
No casualties were reported except a man's breeches catching fire and subsequently being put out with a bottle of ale.

Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers:
Little we see in Nature that is ours;
We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon!"
