The worry is the trendline though: fatalities were trending down for a decade – and then shot up sharply since the beginning of the pandemic.
In Victoria, we have now erased ~15 years of progress by the looks of things, with no turnaround in sight.

'Social movements and other kinds of non-conventional political articulation can thus be interpreted as offering a supplementary form of identity construction which helps to compensate for the shortcomings of consumption-centred identity formation.
