Why do people get so wrecked at a hockey game?

Little guy and I were at the Habs game last night… game started w/ some friendly chirping between fans.

Last 5mins was brutal. Leafs fans started antagonizing. Beer was thrown, learned new swears, and nearly had to get the little man out of there.

Always proud to be Mason’s dad, but was a little extra proud this weekend.

The Capital Area Lacrosse Association U13 Cardinals won the gold at the Codiac Cup this weekend. The Codiac Storm put on a great tournament for the kids.

Definitely a Father’s Day memory I’ll cherish.

My little guy’s team won gold at their box lacrosse tournament over the weekend. I’m always proud of him but today I’m a little bit extra proud.

Seedlings have been getting a little (lot) leggy and the spring sun through a window hasn’t been cutting it.

Cdn Tire had some led shop lights on sale with the right wavelength light (I know, it’s not full spectrum). They were a fair bit cheaper than grow lights.

Stay tuned to see if they work.

One thing that brings me joy and makes me feel alive (other than my family) is gardening. It’s just the best way to disconnect for a bit.

Spent the morning hoeing in compost, transplanting pepper seedlings (hello scotch bonnets!), and getting read to sow.

Pics from last year.

“Yeah, I’ll watch your drink while you go to the washroom.”

At least Hegseth wasn’t using ICQ or Facebook Messenger? That’s something, right?

Started listening to Lorehammer, a Canadian Warhammer podcast, thinking it would knock me out and help me fall asleep.

Instead I became really interested in the story behind the game and can’t stop listening.

And now I’ve done a thing…

No. Absolutely not. I’m tired of the wealthy and retired telling me I should work longer. Get wrecked.

Fergie is not impressed with the 🍊 💩’s nonsense.

Just look at the side eye.

I’m sorry Kikkoman. You’re dead to me.

Time to find Canadian made.

Left eye complete. In and out of the office in less than an hour. I know it’s quasi-private medicine, but my God is it efficient and comfortable.

So grateful to be married to a loving, caring partner who takes such good care of me at times like this. Im very fortunate.

Three weeks ago I had cataract surgery on one eye. Today I’m heading in for the other.

Noticed a whole slew of new grey hair at work yesterday.

Getting older is a privilege but there’s a price. Grateful for modern medicine.

This is after the last surgery (thought my eyes were hilarious):

Every time I see Poilievre I think of The Corinthian from The Sandman.

Like any populist, he amplifies the vile thoughts folks would normally push out of their minds. He thrives and feeds on the cruelty he helps normalize. It’s an awful feedback loop.

He’s a nightmare.

The last time my pupils looked like this there were waves moving across the pattern in the floor tiles.

By all accounts my first cataract surgery was a success.

Huh. Thought my phone cam had “cataract mode” for a second. Then I cleaned the lens.

I’m not made for brevity in writing. My whole schtick is writing the way I talk/think and that doesn’t work well in social media.

The medium doesn’t lend itself to nuance but no one wants to read a blog post on why every dog is the best dog.

Fergie is a vizsla and is her best self in the woods. Haven’t gotten out enough since COVID, but we’re slowly getting there.

Vizslas are also retrievers but she wails if we get separated by water (she doesn’t want her paws to get wet).

She sticks her tongue out when she’s feeling sassy.
