Sorry, completely missed this. No, this is a different cave - while it used to support Hildegarde’s tomb bat, the level of disturbance and construction above the cave has prompted them to abandon it. We found very few bats during this survey.

Used to be. Sadly this is one of the historic Hildegarde’s roosts that has now been abandoned due to the level of development and disturbance above it.

This bat was last seen in 1981, and this study was the first time its roost had been identified. You can read more about this in the Biodiversity Data Journal @pensoft.bsky.social
