Dartmoor, Hay Tor, some rather splendid megacrystic alkali feldspars in th4e granite that are very visible on the highest part of the Tor.

Jurassic Coast, near Lyme Regis, Pinhay Bay, a dewatering structure, at the top of the white lias beds, one of many along the same bed, potentially caused by a seismic event whilst sediment still had a lot of water in.

Intriguing Svartsengi GPS monitor graph showing quite a steep incline on the upwards ground movement graph, is there a steady magma inflow into an inflating magma chamber that slows when getting pressurised or is there an increased pulse of magma entering the chamber?

Fascinating initial Svartsengi GPS readings after the april 1st dike intrusion, a steep rise, could be just upset by intrusion or maybe a sign of increased magma flow from deep, time will tell.

A spectacular EQ swarm prior to todays eruption in Iceland just north of the town of Grindavik, the EQs clearly mapping the line of the fissure.

The De le Beche angular unconformity at Varis Vale, east Somerset, flat beds of middle jurassic inferior oolite sit on top of planed off steeply dipping carboniferous limestone.

Iceland, GPS station at Svartsengi shows land is still rising, but no eruption (yet).

East Harptree Combe, so many ash trees down it looks like a tornado has passed through. Some good outcrops of Triassic dolomitic conglomerate still accessible though.

The Icelandic Svartsengi GPS online graph is showing the vertical land rise has reached the level at which the last eruption in November occurred. As yet, no new eruption.

Iceland: IMO have released an update that includes this graph, suggesting that the volume of magma under Svartsengi has now reached the minimal required to trigger an eruption based on modelling.

Thanks for that, its an interesting site. I was struck by the internal design and those amazing romanesque arches, i was never sure whether they were original Norman constructs or later additions, have you anything on that?

Annual Somerset traditional carnival this evening in Glastonbury, floats as spectacular as usual despite the slightly soggy weather.

Somerset, Sand Point, Middle Hope bay, these Carboniferous volcaniclastic deposits are interesting, some fair size blocks here, up to about 25cm.

Some interesting layering in the ashy limestone and what looks like bioturbation in the rocks at Sand Point, Middle Hope, Somerset, this bit near the top of the ash deposit on the eastern part of the bay. Can anyone say what made this?

Latest GPS monitor at Svartsengi, Iceland, shows a bit of an interesting kink in the trend of ground inflation. It could just be a data recording issue.
