Mostly bike stuff. Ōtautahi Christchurch
Council is now intending to build it to allow completion to align with the opening of Parakiori. Hopefully it actually gets built this time!
Here are some screenshots of the council docs from 10 December.

No idea if it reaches 50%, but it is a large amount for sure. Especially in Chch with our wider roads

Cars are also to blame for loss of trees in our cities. Here a large tī kōuka cabbage tree was cut down

Today Christchurch city councilors voted to allow more housing in outer suburbs like Hornby and Belfast but not just outside of the four aves. They limited the city centre walkable zone upzoning to inside the four aves as the IHP surprisingly recommended.

Not sure if this sign is big enough, a little wider and they could've blocked the whole footpath and cycle lane

So due to Health and Safety (some people injured themselves on the curb) there is now a bright yellow fence almost enclosing the bike parking at Woolworths Church Corner and 2/5 bike racks have been removed. It's now pretty awkward to use and will fill up even more often.

Simeon always forgets this when making claims about how speed increases to 110km/h will grow the economy. Freight (trucks) is still limited to 90km/h.

Anyone know the status of Antigua st cycle project? Construction was expected to start in Sep 2022, was delayed for (cancelled) CERF projects I think. CCC web says now expected to start construction in April/May. Is this still the case?

Wonder if there's any chance this property on the corner of Riccarton Rd and Waimairi Rd gets redeveloped into something better. Maybe one day it'll be next to a light rail station. For now it fronts a car sewer.

Fourth time asking for one of those large rubbish bins for this park... Not holding my breath but surely it makes sense even financially for CCC instead of paying contractors to empty this tiny one way more frequently than would be necessary for a large one.
