The US Evangelical Christian mindset is from that same seed. That’s how they can call empathy a sin with a straight face. That’s how they use doctrine to demean women openly. And this mindset spread and has everyone desperately trying to feel superior in any way we can.

The people are not bogged down by the antics of their leadership, imperfect as it may be, they don’t have to think about it and it’s reflected in the way they just live.
