Do political science profs have to explain to their students that, for most of American history, it was actually borderline unthinkable that elected officials and their spokespersons would constantly talk like trashy reality show contestants?
After calling Schumer a "Palestinian," Leavitt refers to "Gavin Newscum." So she's just ripping off her boss's smears now.

Deportations actually _increase_ housing prices because they shrink the construction industry.

The reduction in new houses being built swamps effects from lower demand

I spent a few years with housing as my main or second beat as a reporter and that is absolutely not why housing is expensive. Not even remotely why.
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

$300,000

That's it. Nine tsunami-tracking stations going offline over a $300,000 funding cut.

That's like 1.5 ICE agents/year.

Probably less than it cost just to fix potholes caused by Trump's birthday parade.

What are we doing here?

The strong implication is bad. But, as an evidentiary matter, the timing is critical because it was written before Donald Trump became a serious candidate for the presidency. If you're weighing credibility, that is a crucial factor to consider.
This one is potentially worse — Epstein is strongly implying that Trump had sex with one of his victims

Problem is it’s impossible to argue that the Democratic caucus as a whole isn’t on board with it and orchestrating the vote to protect each other. Hard to trust any of them now.
the strongest signal I’ve seen so far — the centrist and institutionalist wing of the Democratic Party is saying ‘hell no’
The government has been shut down for 40 days—the longest in history. All Democrats have fought hard for extending the Affordable Care Act tax credits that make health care affordable for millions. I’m voting against the bill given it doesn’t extend these valuable tax credits.
