Utterly depressing spectacle at my local patch etang de lachaussee. Dozens of ill, already dead, and dying cranes all over the lake. It's totally heartbreaking to see. What a grim sight. There were 4 WT Eagles around too but they've been seen attacking the weakened cranes. Hope they're ok.

Is it just me or do butterflies seem to be having a better year already this year? Plenty of whites, blues, painted ladies, peacocks and some sort of clouded yellow sp too. Oh, swallowtail and scarce swallowtail as well.

Booked to go home from 13th to 16th June. First time in three years. Then oldham athletic threw a fucking spanner in the works and got to the play off final so in fact I'm going home early this coming weekend.
