I’ve never heard these smug lines, but maybe they’re only foisted on on vegans. That seems a double standard right there. Bear in mind that pizza, in Canada, as recently as the 1950s, was shockingly novel.

And call me a political omnivore, but I’ll take electoral reform where I can get it. I don’t know that there is much to be gained by holding out for the perfect system while we watch the left continuing to split itself.

Sure, but there is path there that could use a combined MMP-STV system like what was proposed in BC. I think that would be a fairly easy adaptation of the Westminster model. You could also implement either part of that first, and the second after.

Unpopular opinion, but we could have STV by now if the NDP had agreed to it, and the NDP and Greens would be doing much better. The fact they drew the line at PR is unfortunate.

C’mon @cbcradiocanada.bsky.social, @globalnews.ca.web.brid.gy do journalists spend all their time working on clever headline puns that they don’t think about the timing of these remarks? Tories fall in the polls and suddenly PP is no friend?
