For those that haven't seen the Times's Sports front cover

Have to say I'm not sure about using Donald v's Donald

The key to any article, posting or opinion is providing the data that backs it up.

Fraser Nelson and his team at The Times have produced data from the NHS detailing falling injuries from knife crime and firearms.

Draw your own conclusions

Courtesy of thetimes.com, graphic below detailing spend, receipts and net spend in the EPL this transfer window.

Leeds's net spend of £92m puts them 9th overall, so ahead of Chelsea, Villa and Newcastle.

Lack of receipts means most of the spend has to be financed by the owners

Interesting to see the breakdown of goods that India exports to the US.

India is often described as the 'World's Pharmacy' for the sheer volume of generic drugs they produce.

What impact will the 50% tariff have on healthcare in the US?

I'm struggling to see why anyone would look at the new logo as 'woke' or 'liberal'. If anything it's rather bland.

I don't envy US branding agencies, who have to navigate the minefield of America's polarised political landscape

Some how Rory Mcllroy manages to shoot a birdie after his bunker shot hits the grandstand at the PGA Championship in Atlanta.

Why does this never happen to me?

The front pages of both The Telegraph and the The Guardian lead with photos of Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz after their 1st round defeat in the US Open mixed doubles.

Can't help but think they both have an agenda to push, which has nothing to do with tennis . . .

Interesting analysis in the Times today, which looks at each Premier League's team playing style.

It highlights how Leeds rely on their full-backs, particularly Jason Bogle, who scored 6 goals and assisted 4 last season.

Graphic below highlights Bogle's open play touches last season

Article in the ft.com today which highlights the staggering investment the Hyperscalers are making into AI.
A key component for all of them is new datacentres to cope with the additional compute power that AI's LLM's require.

The text on the mural reads "Wir schämen uns für alle, die gegen uns schreien," which translates to "We are ashamed for all those who cry out against us"

It formed part of an anti-racism initiative and also a celebration of Yeboah's legacy at Frankfurt.

You can't help but chuckle at the pre-season optimism of Man Utd fans . . .
That said it's difficult to see how they have a worst season than last year, where they finished 15th and only managed to win 7 of their 19 premier league home games.

Another great article by the ft.com breaking down the current rollout of full fibre to UK homes.
Had there been better coordination we wouldn't have had 21% of UK homes having a choice of fibre provider because of overbuild, whilst 25% of homes have no provider at all.

The split of the UK broadband market in the ft.com graphic reinforces the dominance of BT and Openreach as the key provider. Both Sky and Talk Talk predominantly use Openreach services to deliver their broadband services. Slim pickings for the Alt Nets.

Sick pay
Another interesting graph from the FT detailing absence from work due to sickness across a number of European countries.
The low level in the UK is almost certainly linked to the rate of statutory sick pay, which makes it very difficult for UK workers to miss work at all.
