They've had like four outages just this week. My take away is that leet code interviews and a pretend meritocracy don't lead to healthy engineering culture.

That is the case. The person doing the dunking here didn't include the whole thread where she explains her confusion and thanks people for explaining it.

Scrivener, who knowingly continued to sponsor NaNoWriMo after the non-profit publicly endorsed AI writing.

Always good to see some chickens coming home to roost.

I'm with you! I Red Bull normally tastes awful to me but this one seems like "Red Bull in name only". Good luck!

I fished a cat from under the bed to give him his medicine. He's lazy except when it comes to hiding.

I'm not sure linking is their forte -- the board members link in that github repo yields an SSL error.

That's also like 0.4% of SNAP recipients. So even if it was true, it's an insignificant clerical issue.

I worked in a grocery store for a bit in college. I very clearly remember a woman who nearly broke down at the register because we didn't have the milk that was allowed and she couldn't get the other milk we did have.

This is the type of thing that radicalized many of us.

Can ya'll fix the headline on this article?

"SNAP runs out of money Nov. 1. Here's what that means in your state"

The program isn't out of money -- it has a contingency fund that the government is refusing to use. You know this.

They both got hit, but Steam handled it way better.

Steam identified the material, removed it, and accepted the loss of part of their creator / customer base.

Itch made unnecessary blunder after unnecessary blunder, each time hurting their creators and alienating their community.

@merriam-webster.com honestly surprised y'all don't have this version of "Aunt" as one possible meaning of the word.

I attended a technology talk last week on writing better prompts for code creation and the speaker would not stop anthropomorphizing LLMs.

Literally stuff like "they have the same motivations that humans do" and "you have to keep them happy".

This is in addition to the cat food I need to run over and donate to them as well. We were introduced by our vet, collecting pet food, but they do amazing work for hungry humans too.

Nah, you're 100% right. I put the wrong number and the actual demographics are more impressive than my messed up summary
