Our democracy is getting replaced with fascism right before our eyes, and most of the country is sleeping through it because it doesn't yet seem like it's directly affecting them.

“1 out of every 5 dollars in Medicaid is improper”

1 out of every 5 Americans uses Medicaid and it still costs the federal government half of what our defense budget does. The actual data shows <2% of Medicaid spending is considered improper, and the majority of that is not on the beneficiary side.
Vought blatantly lies about Medicaid cuts on CNN, claiming "no one will lose coverage as a result of this bill"

“No children are dying on my watch,” said Rubio. It's blatantly false. Credible estimates count 190K deaths so far.

In Kenya, I am seeing devastating impact, incl this child's starvation & many deaths directly caused by Rubio’s actions. More in my @msnbc.com clip. www.instagram.com/atul.gawande...

I’d love to see their data! Cause this has been studied by actual scientists & the decline in American life expectancy has ACTUALLY been driven largely by:

-guns
-illicit drugs
-COVID
-lack of healthcare access

And our horrible maternal mortality rates are driven by abortion restrictions & racism.
The White House blamed exposure to environmental toxins, poor nutrition and increased screen time for a decline in Americans’ life expectancy Thursday.
White House says food, toxins among reasons for poor U.S. health
Parts of the “MAHA report” contradict scientific consensus.

At IUSM, students are evaluated using Louis Pangaro’s Reporter-Interpreter-Manager-Educator or RIME framework.

The validity and reliability of faculty using the method for student feedback has been well-established.

“Previously on X medication, discontinued as alternative med provider advised discontinuation of ALL prescriptions.”

Instead, she’s on supplements with no demonstrated efficacy and likely harm to baby.

Even the nazis were allowed to plead their case.

Trial lasted 9 months.

They called 83 witnesses.

There is no point at which the gravity of an accusation supersedes the right to habeas corpus.

An firm, open commitment to the destruction of habeas corpus— the creation of a new rule that says anyone the administration orders ICE to seize can be shoved onto a flight to a torture prison in another country and there's nothing any US court can do about it— destroys constitutionalism.

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.
