Yesterday was a day I've been dreading - I had to give the nod to my vet crew to release my darling Daisy from her pain. Xrays had revealed what we suspected - a tumour growing on the tendons of a front leg. There were no viable options for a dog of her age. There's a hole in my heart...

Beach picture... my lovely retired greyhound Daisy enjoying one of her favourite places. She can spy The Noodle Brigade - our local greyhound walking group. Daisy is not up to the full walk these days, so we did the shortcut and waited for them to reach us.

My lovely old girl Daisy is a sad pup ... she had minor surgery yesterday, a tendon nick or 'tenotomy' to relieve tension on a toe that has been causing trouble for weeks. By releasing tension, my vet is hoping the toe will pop up, so the nail doesn't rub her next toe to the point of bleeding.

How terrific! I've seen a few wade in a fair way, but never one swimming.

This is the closest my 12 yo Daisy can manage - she loves standing on the beach staring at the sea.

Last week, my doctor made a wide margin when he removed a suspicious looking skin lesion the size of a small finger tip above my eyebrow.
Yesterday, I was given the results of the biopsy - a 'very aggressive' cancer. /2

Daisy is zorsted! First, I hung out washing, which had to be supervised. Then I vacuumed the house - nasty thing it is! Next, I disappeared in the car - sneak technique to do fencing stuff with my neighbour.
Highlight of the day - a trip to the rubbish transfer station with a trailer load of stuff!

This is what a Watch Hound looks like in 'watching mode'. No barking, just very focused staring out at the drive to see if one of her favourite people might be visiting

I raise you one #greyhound... Daisy, who'll be 12 in a couple of months, gazing with delight having just caught sight of her toyboy, 5 yo greyhound Deef.

They adore each other and love regular rambles through local parks.

Sorry to hear of your injury.
I've come close with The Bonehead (aka Daisy). She always manages to look offended as though I was the one crashing into her...
But how can I stay mad at this sweet face?

Yep. And greyhounds. Presenting Her Royal Highness Princess Daisy, 'When are you going to feed me, dammit?' mode. She had a special Powerstare for food!

My mum treated me to a wonderful birthday lunch at a local restaurant with fabulous gardens to admire. First course...

Good evening! Introducing my retired greyhound Daisy and myself, a nearly retired teacher. No good at racing, Daisy has excelled at loving people - she has a 'list' of her favourite humans.
