tonight was THE BALLAD OF BUSTER SCRUGGS (2018). every time i watch this movie i appreciate more the way that it just drags out the horrible. it's so mean and funny. every time you think something bad is going to happen, something worse happens.

tonight was THE INSIDER (1999). i go back on forth on my favorite Mann film. sometimes it’s this, sometimes it’s THIEF. both of them have an insane velocity to their emotions that Mann can tap into unlike anyone else. gorgeous, moving, exhausting.
