Okay. That makes so much more sense. I'm as silent as a mouse on both platforms, so it was a very weird notification to get on my ~monthly check-in.

Still curious what the topic was, though it's been half a month so I don't know if you'd even remember.

I post so seldomly over here... And NEVER on Instagram! What did I post that wound up in Instagram?

I really wish we could get more of a migration to this platform, but if we can't even get a post about winning the game and getting promoted, then no wonder it's a struggle to get people to move away from Twitter.

They did it. They actually did it. I'm so damn happy.

Oh hey, that's my former delegate (before redistricting) and good friend Heather Bagnall!

Honestly quite surprised to see her face as I was scrolling through gift articles!

Please do not tempt me with the thing I most want to see in the entire world.

Did you explain about the shorts? I feel like most people understand when you tell them about the shorts. Not that anyone is complaining about the flying high through the South London sunshine to head the ball into the corner of an opponent's net, but... the shorts, though.

I just don't want to change clocks ever again. I hate it. That's all I care about.

We're adults, we can just have "Summer hours" if we want. We can change our schedules without having to pretend that the time magically changed.

Voting for the ones we see as "reasonable" is how you try to get the people like Collins and Murkowsky on your side. So you can look at them when it's RFK or Hegseth or Kash Patel and say, "Come on, this is the time to draw the line!"

Sadly, it still didn't work. But they had to try.

But the thing is, they honestly did not think that Marco Rubio was an incompetent fool.

If you oppose everybody equally, there's no way to say, "No seriously, this one CANNOT be confirmed." If we don't pretend Rubio is supposed to be better than Matt Gaetz, it provides cover for Gaetz.

The wrongful termination lawsuits alone are going to absolutely dwarf the "savings". We're not going to see even short-term benefits from DOGE.

Feels great to have helped buy him!

Also, this probably deserves a mention:

Browne fouled that guy, but I don't even care because that non-call felt like justice for all the times Bugiel had been mugged without a whistle.

I especially loved how their defender stood there whining instead of getting back on defense to cover Browne. Made Stevens' job so much easier.

Second in the league. Tied for the best goal differential. In the driver's seat for automatic promotion.

It feels so damn good.

COYD!

Could you either resign or appoint a proxy to speak for you who is willing and able to speak like it's a God damn emergency?

Calmly reading a prepared statement off a piece of paper isn't cutting it, man.

Getting emails that are like, "You should quit, because if you don't, it's our intention to come fire you," has a profound affect on focus and job performance. You can't convince me that the air traffic controllers aren't distracted by the extra stress - we all are.
February 1, 2025 at 5:42 PM
Realistically, it's not those first three. They certainly don't HELP, and they cripple the ability to respond effectively once the crash happens, but it's too soon for the firings to have trickled down and affected the day-to-day operations.

But #4 matters a lot. It's affecting all fed employees.

"...and therefore I will be voting NO on all of his nominees until he ceases this reckless, destructive behavior."

Huh. So weird. I felt for sure that's how her message would have ended, and yet somehow, inexplicably, I don't see it there. Did she forget to include that very obvious last part?

The passing in the the last couple minutes before that first goal is everything I have ever wanted to see from AFC Wimbledon. We look unstoppable when we control the ball and pass like that. Absolutely beautiful. That was the most I've enjoyed a goal in a while.

How can anyone feel anything less than total jubilation when Joe Lewis comes out in long sleeves because it's cold, but still wears the shortest shorts in the history of short shorts?
