The big question in my head... Where did the £700,000 come from?

This is my understanding, too. Apparently, examiners can earn more by working as driving instructors - so why would they choose to be examiners?

Trump: They're eating the dogs they're eating the cats.
Farage: They're eating the swans they're eating the carp.

The same playback, different accent! It's almost like someone has written a manual for hacking democracy...

All the European leaders taking it in turn to stroke Trump's fragile ego, in the hope of stopping him from doing something stupid.

Would it be such a bad thing?
Tesla revolutionised the car industry, by making better EVs. Their battery storage helps at a home and grid level.
Maybe they could usher in new technology leading to better electricity distribution.

Makes perfect sense.
So why is it so hard to persuade people that the minor feature request from 4 years ago should just go on the never pile, so we don't waste another second discussing it?

I think many of us would be happy if the EU requirement for lane keep assist was removed.
This would save the annoyance of turning it off, to make driving on narrow country lanes safer.
It would also make cars simpler and hence cheaper to buy and cheaper to maintain.

Echoes of how Jeremy Corbyn was treated here in the UK...
Political parties on both sides appear to hate anyone who shows compassion.

Given that used EVs are now quite affordable, this seems a bit dumb. Grants to install chargers could be more useful.

Thanks for this one! It's a topic that greatly interests me, but I still found it hard going to listen to.
One little tip for Emma, people process what you are saying in the gaps between your sentences. So try to add pauses for this.

It certainly is!
After catching the "cold" going round our office I noticed my sense of smell disappeared. A test revealed that it was Covid.
Two weeks later I'm still not fully fit.

Our son was like that too!
A word of warning... One day he may head off to the other side of the planet, leaving you a vast number of books to look after.

Well done for getting it published!
Should there be a 4th part to the action plan, sharpen the pitchforks and overthrow them?

There are over 360,000 school leavers each year, so no shortage of people who could benefit from learning a valuable trade.

Good question!
My understanding is that they are doing this because they will be fined for each vehicle below their legal quota of EVs for each year.
Some manufacturers are making EVs that people actually want to buy, and so have no issues. However others are making EVs that just aren't worth buying

Has this data come from DVLA registration or some other source?
I see a few people highlighting a large number of pre-registered EVs, which have yet to be sold and so are not in use on the road yet.
