Who do you think they are going to replace the migrant workers with once they deport them all? My thoughts are that it will be prisoners because slavery is legal as long as it's prison labour. Where are all the millions of extra prisoners coming from? Well...that's what the camps are 4.

Alan Jones was once one of the most feared and influential people in the country, with even prime ministers bending the knee. But as @rachelwithers.bsky.social writes, his arrest shows just how far the “king” has fallen.

When we reached our $5k target on the weekend, I got a message from UNICEF asking if I wanted to keep going and raise the target. So I did to $7.5K. Overnight we raised another $1k+, and we now stand at $6.12k

I can't thank you lot enough.

Excellent article - thing about the "net" zero target is the net part is pretty f*cking dodgy, and even with that, Australia is nowhere near on track!

How privatisation works (and Thames Water is just the latest example).
1. A government takes a national asset built up with taxpayers' money and the work of public servants over many years, and hands it, for a fraction of its value, to a private company.
2. In doing so, it creates a monopoly.

Here’s a fundamental bit.

In 2022 INDs disclosed more individual donors, & a lower average donation $, than the two major parties combined.

One IND disclosed 3,762 donors in reports.

Big parties say they want to get rid of big money in politics - but their proposed law targets SMALL money too.
Cap on total donations and cap on spending. So if 1000 people want to donate $1000:❌ over the $800K cap. Individual party candidates get same cap, but party can also spend up to $90 million across the country, with senate campaign and party advertising.
