We have a chance for strong storms along a cold front, mostly after midnight tonight.

An isolated storm may develop this afternoon and evening, but we'll likely have to wait for a line along the cold front that will push through the region between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Most areas have improved with dry time, but flooding along the Blackwater River is still a problem. Good news is rain ahead won't be nearly as impactful as what we had over the weekend. I have the latest this morning on ABC17!

A new tornado watch is in place until 7 p.m. for several mid-Missouri counties. We expect tornadoes from storms that develop later this afternoon.

The National Weather Service Has Issued a Tornado Watch for Pettis, Marshall, Chariton, Macon, Randolph, Howard, and Cooper counties until 10 AM. This means conditions will be favorable for tornadoes this morning. Pay close attention to the weather as you get ready for the day.

I've made some small tweaks to the snowfall map, but overall the messaging is the same. We expect an impactful winter storm to bring inches of snow across the region, which will deteriorate travel through the day Wednesday. I'll have the latest on ABC17 & FOX22

Temperatures are dropping a few extra degrees this morning, so Boone, Audrain, Howard, and Saline counties have been added to the advisory. Elevated surfaces will be first, but where the pavement is cold enough, we'll develop ice on roads as well. Use caution this morning.

A dense fog advisory has been issued for Pettis, Benton, and Morgan counties through noon, but fog does extend into our lake area counties such as Camden and Miller as well.

Ahhhh... we have refreshing images of rain showers on the ABC17 Stormtrack Doppler Radar this morning. This will not only be a nice change of pace, but will hopefully wash some of the snow and salt off the roads. It's looking like a beautiful weekend for a car wash!
