My prediction is they choose option A, vote Corbyn as leader, then Sultana starts another new party.

Maybe there are not enough 'senior' officials. OBR 24/25 annual report shows only two SCS-level posts (Chief of Staff and Deputy) suggesting the 'head of strategy, operations and comms' can only be G6 tops.

A large pastis and non, je ne regrette rien playing in the background.

2/6 and I was very happy with that. However, wife was not (she's originally from there...)

Markets: 'We need a clear fiscal strategy from Gov'

Also Markets: 'AI to infinity and beyond!!!'
November 15, 2025 at 6:39 AM
These Lab MPs are clearly looking across to the oppo benches and concluding "look, see how ousting leaders solves all those polling problems".
November 12, 2025 at 6:31 AM
Same. You're usually 1-2 guesses better than me but this last week I have been keeping up!
November 11, 2025 at 6:38 AM
1/6 as well. Only if I don't have any idea but think it's a certain continent I have a default city I always start with...
November 6, 2025 at 8:31 AM
Inference has to be Trump really wants this decision for another purpose?
November 5, 2025 at 9:38 AM
Probably not for Badenoch tbf.
October 30, 2025 at 6:11 PM
They seem to now be actually denying it was ever a plan - Badenoch saying Lam got it wrong but also Philp on X yesterday said 'no change' to ILR policy and linked BBC Feb 2025, seemingly ignoring the content of his later draft Bill
October 30, 2025 at 12:24 PM
Philp on x yesterday also said there has been 'no change' to Tory ILR policy and linked to Feb 2025 BBC story, ignoring the contents of the later Bill he/they presented.

Seems the line (they are trying) to now take is "we never said that" when of course they did!!!
October 30, 2025 at 12:19 PM
Hope everyone is ready to press again on version 2 which Tories say is coming soon and will no doubt likely to be equally batshit
October 29, 2025 at 4:32 PM
Also NB "... gangs coming over here"
October 27, 2025 at 5:09 PM
Good employers already check the right to work before hiring. Bad employers don't. ID cards will make not a jot of difference.
October 24, 2025 at 5:16 AM
Badenoch's stated approach is to not "rush out" new policies and instead "take time to get it right" (BBC, 5th October).

I guess publishing draft leglislation then saying policy implications of said legislation will need to be designed carefully is one way to do it.
October 22, 2025 at 3:41 PM
Doubt many saying they will vote Reform are following their policy announcements as closely as journos/commentators.

Also interesting that the 'policies' section of their website still only shows the 2024 manifesto even though a lot of these appear to have now changed/been scrapped.
October 22, 2025 at 8:13 AM
Think you are overthinking. It's not about polling. It's Tory leadership positioning with membership. Jenrick keeps moving more to the right, Badenoch keeps trying to play catch-up, and backbencher Lam is betting on Jenrick (who she supported in 2024 contest).
October 20, 2025 at 5:19 AM
Scrapping ILR is the latest Reform/Tory right lurch but the tiny voter group they are trying to court won't be satisfied unless they pledge all brown/black/muslims, even if British for generations, should be 'sent home'. Will they (and if so who will be the first to) go to that point?
October 19, 2025 at 6:23 PM
Jenrick is moving further and further to the right to try and get leader position. Badenoch thinks she has to follow to avoid leadership challenge. I doubt there is *any* proper thinking about a strategy to get voters to return.
October 17, 2025 at 10:29 AM
Last GE we were in a Lab-Con area (Putney) and voted Lab. Now we are in a Lib-Con area (Richmond Park) and will happily vote Lib. Think (hope?) tactical voting in the next GE is massively being unerplayed in polling.

Don't think 'Budgie smugglers' will be as popular as you imagine
October 16, 2025 at 6:16 PM
Non-lawyer here. Reads to me like the DPP, after the CoA case, and prob wrongly, set a very specific new evidence test which required the Gov to effectively say 'China is (was) a threat' and Gov declined (presumably 'is' for political reasons and/or 'was' cos official security report at time).
October 15, 2025 at 12:10 PM
Hi Sunder, just sent an email about this to your British Future email (at least the one listed on their site for you)
October 11, 2025 at 1:59 PM
The big picture here is that most voters will not know or care who the Lab Dep Leader is, what 'kind' they are, or what they say. If they are *also* Dep PM then a little more interest. But if they happen to be a backbencher then zilch.
