In case I haven’t already mentioned it, I’m serialising LOS, my graphic novel about William Blake, on substack.
First 12 pages are free, then each month I’ll add more pages for paid subscribers, fresh from the drawing board.

It’s #nationalpoetryday here in the UK. My fave poet (printer, painter, visionary etc) is William Blake, and I love him so much I’ve embarked on an ambitious graphic novel about his life! If that sounds up your alley you can follow and support the project at open.substack.com/pub/loshighway

A good week for delivery of absurdly beautiful (sonically and visually) albums - Cardiacs’ long awaited LSD and Cate le Bon’s dreamy Michelangelo Dying

Here's my latest substack malarkey, in which I catch up on some recent 'Blake Bollocks' and then describe how I printed the chapter titles of my WIP Blake graphic novel on a replica 18th century printing press in Houston.
Read and subscribe! etc.

When he was 8 or 9 young William Blake saw a tree filled with angels on Peckham Rye.

This weekend I’ll be selling a print of this angelic encounter, and the 1st issue of my Blake comic, just up the road at our Open Studios, Bussey Building, Copeland Park, Sat & Sun 28-29 June, 11 - 5. Come say hi!
June 27, 2025 at 6:06 PM
I’m taking part in the Open Studios at the Bussey Building in Copeland Park, Peckham next weekend, Saturday and Sunday 28-29 June, 11am-5pm

I’ll be selling comics about William Blake as a child and prints of him looking at angels (on Peckham Rye no less) and other things.

See you there?

I don’t make any claims to be a great photographer but I’m rather pleased with this snap from today’s London Marathon. Full credit should go to the person who made that excellent sign of course (and to be fair, the guy running the London Marathon)

God I wish Kurt Vonnegut was alive in the age of Trump (not that I expect he would agree)!

Thought I was taking a Blake break with this Vonnegut book, but he always turns up in the end anyway!

Listening to yesterday’s @newsagents.bsky.social, for perishableTrump foodstuff I would like to suggest a Furious Orange (based on Lee & Herring’s legendary Curious Orange, and seen here on placard from Trump protest the first time round)

Death of Clem Burke sent me off down a small Blondie rabbit hole. Turns out my favourite Blondie song, Union City Blue, was written by Debbie Harry and this guy, Nigel Harrison. NY hipster, right? Apparently not - born in Stockport, UK, and grew up in Princes Risborough, Bucks, where I used to live!
