This is what I’m sayin Paul… keeping guys like Sherwood (even tho he’s a great player) and paying him close to $25Mill while letting UFA’s walk is insanity. You don’t make great wine by letting the grapes die on the vine.

Getting good young players, prospects, and first round picks is not a lateral move. It’s a proven recipe for success. Sherwood may very well be the leading in goals but he’s a 3rd line guy making 1.5, that’s not why he’s here! If that’s what’s happening it’s not success it’s failure and mid.

I wanted him to stay, but keeping UFA’s past the trade deadline is crazy. Letting fruit die on the vine is poor business practice. I’m glad he re-signed but was very surprised.

Literally EVERYONE said trade him if they couldn’t re-sign him by the deadline last year. No one expected him back including Brock. You’re delusional.

I mean we all know he’s lying, but if he isn’t that’s more concerning…. When you’ve got guys undermining you and your decisions? Man that’s dangerous stuff, this means he’s distancing himself because he knows this will come back or he has no idea what’s going on around or under his leadership.

By my count there have been 20+ cups won by teams that entered the league after the Canucks. One of those teams 4 years after they entered. Canucks have had 3 cup runs, two by accident. That’s not a good track record. I don’t expect a cup every year but I do expect them to contend.

My loyalty is for me to worry about, when they lose as much as they have in the last 14 years I want change and as a fan I deserve it (think about that now…a 14 year rebuild). This team wants my time, money, support then I want a plan, good players, good management, and winning seasons.

I cheer for my team to win, they aren’t winning for a number of reasons. Poor ownership, poor management, and lack of depth in the lineup which results in poor play when the stars get injured because they’re being over played.

It’s not about buying a cup, it’s about developing a team the right way. Quinn likely isn’t staying, Sherwood isn’t going to sign here for peanuts. People need to recognize what’s happening here, the Canucks are very quickly becoming the Maple Leafs of the 80’and 90’s. Mid team with mid picks.
